This research project aims to use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and electroencephalography (EEG) to investigate brain function in idiopathic generalised epilepsy (IGE). How areas of the brain communicate and work together can be described by functional networks. These networks are often altered in people with IGE. The aims of this research work are to 1) investigate how the networks differ, 2) determine if the networks are altered with successful treatment, and 3) track the time course of the changes. This information will allow us to better understand IGE and further evaluate how the treatments lead to control of symptoms.
